Katrina graduated with her Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University Physician Assistant Program in 2000. Her first job after graduation was at Sparrow Emergency Department, 
Trauma Level 1, in Lansing, MI. She then moved to Port Huron and joined Physician Healthcare Network where she has worked the past 20 years. She has worked in multiple specialties such as Urgent Care, Emergency Room, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health and ENT. She always believed that we should be preventing illness and not just treating it when it developed, which is what modern medicine seems to be doing. Therefore, she feels she has finally found the position she has always dreamed of when she joined Total Health Systems. Combining functional/holistic medicine with modern medicine.
She has completed numerous certifications prior to completing her Bachelors in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State University. She is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Association of Sports Medicine. She is also a Certified Massage Therapist and Certified Emergency Medical Technician through Lansing Community College (LCC). While at LCC, Katrina was the Secretary of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and also was chosen to participate in the Japan Horizon Program which allowed her to learn Japanese and live and work in Japan while continuing her Japanese Education.
Katrina states she is honored to join the team at Total Health Systems which follows the philosophy she has always believed leads to a physically and mentally healthy person; combining Functional and Modern Medicine. Katrina knows the importance of eating a healthy diet, enjoys daily exercise and likes to push herself to see what she is capable of achieving. She has completed multiple marathons including the 100th Boston Marathon, for which you have to have a qualifying time to participate. She has also competed in multiple triathlons ranging from sprint to ½ Ironman and two full Ironman Triathlons. She even qualified and represented USA for the Worlds Long Distance International Triathlon in Nice France.
After getting married and having two daughters, Katrina realized she did not have the time to train for these long-distance competitions. She then put her sights on doing Figure Competition, competing in her first competition at Fame in Toronto, Canada, eight months after having her first daughter. Katrina continues to compete, but has yet to achieve her dream of obtaining her Professional Card, though she has won 1st in Great Grandmasters and qualified for a Pro Competition. Katrina plans to someday compete again in Triathlons with the Hawaiian Ironman being her ultimate goal. She believes that health, nutrition and learning is a life long journey and wants to help others achieve their goals in life to live their healthiest most productive life possible.
