Running Songs - The Perfect PlaylistWith our half marathoners getting into some serious miles and the fun of training might be wearing off for our runners, I thought we could all use a little pick me up. One of the things that works for me is changing up my play list. Here are some of my favorites as well as some other songs that people have recommended.

Eye of the Tiger

Keep on Running – Spencer Davis Group

Chariots of Fire

Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen

Don’t Stop Believing – Journey

Gonna Fly Now – Bill Conti

I Gotta Feelin’ –  Black Eyed Peas

Sex on Fire – Kings of Leon

There is nothing like changing up or customizing your play list. Whether you are doing the 5k or the half marathon, put slower songs on at the beginning. Putting songs that really get you pumped and moving your feet can cause you to go out too strong, too fast. Put those kinds of songs where you think you might need them. Try to time your race and place the appropriate music at the right places. Chariots of Fire is a great movie and great song, but it’s not really fast. It’s a great song to put at the beginning of your playlist. It really does make for a nice run or race.
