Alyssa graduated from Macomb Community college in 2018 with an associates applied science degree in physical therapy assistant. She also has an associates of applied arts and science in massage therapy from Lakewood School of therapeutic massage in 2012. She has clinical and work experience in IPR, acute care and outpatient rehab along with 5 years of massage therapy experience at chiropractic offices. She enjoys helping others achieve their goals and functional limitations preventing them from doing the things they love. She uses manual techniques, stretching, trigger point release, along with functional exercise to return her patients back to their optimal strength of daily living. She loves helping people and aiding in helping them feel better! 

Leo Adewusi, PT

Leo completed his schooling at the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos in Nigeria where he obtained his BSc, Hons Physiotherapy.

Leo Adewusi joins our team with him over 30 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.  He has practiced Physical therapy at different settings including but not limited to Neurology, Acute/ Subacute, hospital and orthopedic physical therapy.

Leo has taken several post graduate classes in career enhancement with a focus on “Hands On” approach to provide the best quality of care to his patients.

Amino graduated from Macomb Community College in 2015 with an Associates Applied Science Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. She has clinical and work experiences in various settings (acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient). She applies her love for art and creativity into treatment plans to make it fun and challenging all while aiming towards each patient’s individual needs and goals.

Brittney Arnold, PTA

Brittney graduated from Baker College of Auburn Hills with an Associate’s of Applied Science as a Physical Therapy Assistant in 2021. She received a comprehensive education and has extensive experience with orthopedic and neurologic therapies in both pediatric and adult-geriatric populations. She shows compassion and empathy to all her patients and enjoys forming a genuine connection with them while working to regain their full range of motion and strengthen injured or atrophied muscle groups through therapeutic interventions. Nothing makes her happier than watching her patient’s reach their goals.

Christine Frederick, PTA

Christine graduated from Macomb Community College in 2000 with an Associates Applied Science Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. She has worked primarily in Orthopedic outpatient therapy. Christine has vast experience in treating patients with lower back and cervical pain, as well as shoulder injuries and knee replacements. She is driven to bring a better quality of life to her patients and looks forward to working the Total Health Systems community.

Jessica Forton, DPT

Jessica received her Associates in Dance from Florida School of the Arts in 2011 and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from CMU in 2013.  She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019 with her doctorate in Physical Therapy and Masters in Business Administration. In her practice as a physical therapist , Jessica utilizes techniques such as functional massage, joint mobilizations, trigger point release, and personalized therapeutic exercise programs to help patients recover from both chronic pain and acute injuries.

Jessica has extensive training in jazz, lyrical, tap, gymnastics, and Cecchetti ballet and has performed professionally at Walt Disney World and as a cheerleader for the NFL.” Building on her experiences as dancer, Jessica specializes in dance injury prevention and rehabilitation and has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient physical therapy and acute care neurological rehab.

Gretchen Kansier, PTA

Gretchen graduated Cum Laude from Macomb Community College in 2019 and is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant. She completed her final clinical rotation in Hawaii working with chronic pain patients. Gretchen also has a lot of experience working with patients with multiple language barriers. She enjoys working in an outpatient setting where she can aid her patients in getting back to their daily quality lives.

Hayley graduated from Hodges University in Naples, Florida in 2018 with an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Throughout her clinical rotations Hayley gained experience in both outpatient and acute care settings. Recently moving to Michigan this will be her first year working as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Hayley is eager to continue her education and get more hands- on experience at Total Health Systems.

Michael Syska, Physical Therapist, Total Health Systems

Michael is an alumnus of Wayne State University, where he received his Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2002.  He has spent his entire career working in Macomb County treating patients with diagnoses varying from back and neck pain to CVA and Parkinson’s to post-surgical total knee and hip replacement. Michael incorporates a variety of techniques such as stretching, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, taping, exercise, and core stabilization into his individualized, patient-centered treatment sessions.
